The only zoo in Ticino was born thanks to a baby-lion from the Tehran Zoo, saved from suppression by the founders.
Back to Switzerland many other animals were taken in care and soon it was necessary to move from Interlaken to sunny Ticino!
The Zoo al Maglio keeps over 200 animals and about 25 species and is a nice spot where to get in touch with the animals who can bee fed with particular food available at the entrance, or else to relax or again to have your children play on the playgrounds.
