Founded in 1862 as the Royal Ethnographic Collections of Max II Joseph, the Museum Five Continents is the first museum of its kind in Germany. It is a world-class collection of historical and contemporary collections, which show the uniqueness and diversity of cultures from Africa, the Americas, Asia, Australia, the Orient, Oceania and Europe.
